106 year old 4 1/4 Cedar slab

No visible fasteners, smooth hand sanded, strong countersink design, easy 2-bolt assembly. This live edge Cedar slab was salvaged by the heart of Harrison lake. The tree had landed in a dried up river bed leaving the majority of the base suspended 10 feet for an estimate of 2 years before salvage. It has a young, strong, healthy and beautiful look to it. The posts are to match, they're from a higher elevation and were wind-throw on a mountainside left elevated 3-4 years on steep slope. The sapwood on the posts was hand shaved leaving no insect damage and rounded nicely. The wood is in rare, excellent condition and has good visible contrast of heartwood and sapwood. The posts are ranging approximately 40-50 years old.

221 year old 3" Cedar slab

5"inch frame logs sanded out to the perfect softest touch, insect damage removed. The slab tree had fallen almost completely on the ground and was salvaged at the last minute, most of the tree rotted, only two small slabs were salvageable and the rest was too far gone. It's estimated to have been dead standing for many decades because of the developed, brighter and more distinguished colours. A very rare and very unique scenario. Frame-up logs range 40-60 years old.

Cedar Charcuterie Boards

48" inch 136 year old Charcuterie board

This 1 1/4 thick cedar slab charcuterie board was crafted from a 136 year old western red cedar that was downed in a storm and felled in an special and truly elusive circumstance ideal to preserve the wood's beauty and integrity. Rooted on a steep but shallow grade, the specimen fell onto another already felled tree leaving the majority of it elevated 10'feet off the ground for well over a decade allowing it to naturally air dry through the seasons. The location was inaccessible by road and it had to be carefully carried out by hand through thick bush and rugged terrain. The wood is an exquisite gem from the wilderness of Harrison Lake. Finished with Osmo.

Dual Slab Cedar Dining Table (33 x 65)

This dual slab Cedar Dining Table is a combination of nature's beauty, hundreds of careful craftsmanship hours, some innovation and a fancy finish.

This solid wood Cedar Dining Table is unshakable as its almost 10" inch round full log posts are an exact resemblance of a tree's  strength and inner beauty, the abundance of  the wilderness is not spared with this table. Fastened to the top table supports and bottom post feet with total of 16 - 3/8 x 6" stainless steel lag bolts.

The table top itself is fastened through the top supports with 4 large 1/2"inch x 5"inch stainless steel lag bolts.

The calculated maximum load capacity is 700lbs per side!

The posts encapsulate natures wonders with fascinating effects in the grain. They are  3/4"inch custom countersunk onto the top supports and bottom post feet and sanded so smooth that with the finish, it makes them look unreal accompanied by visible ripples and rays throughout the completely smooth surface.

The post feet and top supports are tapered down 3/4 inches to allow for more inviting foot traffic movement around it and a slightly less bulky appearance. Then, finished with a 1/2"inch bevel all around.

The 4" thick slabs prompt an instant "Wow." at first sight. Connected underneath with two 1/4"inch thick stainless steel plates wet sanded to a polish and more 3/8 stainless steel lag bolts. The stainless steel connection plates are over notched into the slabs and have slotted holes for wood expansion and shrinkage, along with one side of the top support bolt holes as well.

Every piece of the table is finished with Osmo, a high quality food safe hard-wax oil from Germany.
